Tim (Paul Rudd) is an up-and-coming executive who has just received his first invitation to the "dinner for idiots," a monthly event hosted by his boss that promises bragging rights to the exec that shows up with the biggest buffoon. He bumps into Barry (Steve Carell)--an IRS employee who devotes his spare time to building elaborate taxidermy mouse dioramas--and quickly realizes he's struck idiot gold... Hilarious. Retraces the encounter between a dentist and amateur pilot whose bag is snatched and its contents thrown across a car park, and a solitary man with a troubled past who retrieves her wallet. The unlikely chance meeting of the two leads to a certain romantic dithering that unfolds in eight phases, corresponding to the rules of flying, and in particular the safety procedures before take-off.
