Anyone in Plantation that is vaguely familiar with City Hall and Councilman Jerry Fadgen knows that Mr. Fadgen has voiced his desire to be Plantation's Mayor on more than one occasion.  In the past couple of weeks, rumors have floated around that Fadgen had a meeting with Mayor Armstrong to let her know that he was planning a run for the seat.  It seems that in the last couple of days, he opened his campaign account and bright and early this morning showed up for Plantation's 4th of July Parade with his campaign magnets affixed to Dick Ware's classic white convertible Cadillac.

It still remains an unknown as to whether Mayor Armstrong will seek another term.  She has remained tight-lipped about her future plans.  No one that we have spoken with, that knows her personally, has been able to shed any light on the subject.  However, with Councilman Fadgen's public announcement of his campaign (you cannot get much more public than Plantation's Holiday Parade); it does cause one to wonder if Councilwoman Bendekovic will join Councilman Fadgen in an all out mayoral run.  Many residents have said all along that if Fadgen runs, Bendekovic will be there too.  All I can say is that the coming months, leading up to the March elections are going to be very interesting indeed.
